Bush is right to threaten to veto the kids' health care bill which, if adopted as law, would add 35 billion over the next five years to this plan.
We cannot continue to spend money on our kids when so much more money is needed to fight the terrorists in Iraq. What sense does it make to keep our kids healthy only to have them killed by terrorists who will take advantage of our reduced spending in Iraq.
Bush was right to call the Democrats irresponsible for proposing this absurd spending spree for a cause that only the Democrats could consider worthwhile.
Too bad Bush will be in office for just over one year. Who will protect us after he leaves office? None of the Republican candidates are as devoted to the one and only issue that really counts...Iraq and only Iraq.
