Drawing the line in the sand - Sometimes you just have to say "enough"

Let me get this straight as I hear some of the anti-war rhetoric being thrown around. “We can’t take military action if we haven’t been directly attacked. They didn’t do anything to us, just made threats”. Ok, with that logic, why did the U.S. declare war on Nazi Germany? They never attacked our homeland. They never blew up a military base, a battleship, an embassy. Should we have stood back and waited until they killed every Jew, every Russian, every Pole, crossed every border in Europe and Africa? Sometimes you have to just say “enough”. The US must take this stand in the Middle East. World War III has already started. It just isn’t as clean and clear-cut as in the movies. This is the challenge of our generation. I fear that many in our country don’t have the fortitude that is needed. The French didn’t at the start of WWII. The Nazis rolled across the countryside and occupied Paris in a matter of weeks. But, they patiently waited to be “freed” by an outside unstoppable force (the Allies). Who will come save us if we throw in the towel when the going gets tough (like the French)? Hmmm, Canada? Mexico? China? I rest my case.
