Separation of Church and State
- Posted by krin B. PerryI don't understand why the issues of abortion and gay marriage have to color almost every decision made by the state and federal governments. These two issues skew and delay action on almost everything from health care reform to selecting and approving a supreme court judge. There is no law in the USA that tells a woman she has to choose abortion, nor is there one that requires any religion or church denomination to perform or sanction gay marriages. That's how separation of church and state works.
Health Care Proposal
- Posted by GZoernerNo one seriously believes that the current national health care system is without faults. It is ripe for improvement and possibly overhaul. Unfortunately the socialists in charge of the Executive and Legislative branches of our government are taking the lead and proposing the wrong solutions. I’m making the following proposals in the spirit of free markets and believe that these two relatively simple ideas can go a long way toward improving the current health care system.
Socialized Capitalism and Universal Healthcare
- Posted by AllenOne of the main arguments against universal health care is this: “If we socialize health care, where will it end?” As if health care would be the first socialized institution in our country.
Our education system, police force, and even our mail system is socialized. How about Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid. When you look around and see all the social-type program we have, it seems rather amazing that only when health care comes up do people start to worry about socialism.
Our candidates and healthcare; where do they stand; or My head hurts Now!!
- Posted by citizenKI have carefully reviewed each of the candidates' health care proposals. Except Thompson who is still waiting for the Hollywood writers to finish the script.
The Dems want some form of Universal care.
The Republicans want only tax breaks...and that will solve most everything.
I even read where Clinton's plan suggests something by the second term! Shouldn't she win first.
I think that the only solution is a marriage between government and the private sector. NO, no, I dont really mean marriage requiring another constitutional amendment...
