So...maybe he isnt ready after all.
There seems to be a big difference between campaigning and governing.
The new president was a great campaigner, but seems, at least in the first few days to be lousy at governing.

Obama has said: "I will open the doors of government and ask you to be involved in your own democracy again."
Sounds a lot like saying "tell me your idea and I will listen".
So...Lets take him up on his invitation and start posting your ideas on issues and causes that need change.
In his first press conference, probably because he is dead tired, Obama misfired twice.
First he kept calling himself a "mutt". Why ever that is important.
Second, he made a bad joke about Nancy Reagan and her belief in the supernatural. He did call her later to apologize.
Since we still have a sitting President till January, Obama needs to slow down a tad, take a few days off, rest and then come back and tackel the mess.
If I am tired after this long campaign season, he must be exhausted.
It's all well and good for people to be exited and happy about President Elect Obama, but to be swept up in this starry eyed Idealism is just plain naive. It's okay to have your "Faith in America restored" (even if this is a far-feteched idea that deserves "tut-tuting" from all of us Real Cynics); but it seems to be people have lost their minds and decided that President Elect Obama is actually the American Messiah.
There is nothing more democratic than vigorous discussion and respectfull dissent.
There is nothing more democratic than voting.
Thanks for all the vigorous discussion and respectfull dissent. Now go Vote, and then return for more discussion and dissent.
My interest in this thread is less about celebrity endorsements of specific candidates. That's their prerogative.
I have been following this year's Rock the Vote campaign, and I've been really shocked at the sheer number of celebrities who have signed on in support of this initiative. The whole idea is that it's a non-partisan call to young people to cast a ballot, which I think is great, but I'm sort of torn on the issue.
Sarah Palin asked Ted Stevens, who was convicted of seven counts of fraud, to step down.
Just what you would expect from a maverick reformer.
Just what you would expect from a new breed of republicans who are sick and tired of the same old Washington.
Just what you would expect from someone who was found, by a bi partisan committee, to have abused her power as a governor and who actually violated state ethics rules.
I cannot wait for this breath of fresh air to get to Washington!!
Obama has explained it, but few understand it.
There is a big difference between gross income and net income for a small business or for anybody for that matter...that includes Joe the plumber.
Obama will apply any additional taxes on NET income, not Gross income.
I saw an ad from a business group today - a gentleman standing in front of tractors in a field saying how he would not expand his business by 20 - 30 people if Barack Obama is elected. I thought it was a very effective ad except that he didn't have the facts straight.
